Staying Anonymous online

Whilst online your every move is traced - what website you come from, where you have been- even search engines log what you have searched, this is why it is becoming more important to stay secure and anonymous whilst online.
Security is key. Make sure you have a good Antivirus installed along with a firewall. This will prevent you getting virus's and malware. A firewall monitors all incoming connections and makes sure they are safe and can not get through unless you allow them to.

Every time you go on to a website it sends your IP address. An IP address is a unique number that every computer connected to the internet is assigned. Every computer has a unique one.
Your IP address contains information about your ISP, what connection you are using, where you are located and more.

One way to hide your ip whilst browsing online is to join a VPN. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a private network that uses a public network (usually the internet) to connect to websites. A VPN can ensure security because anyone intercepting the data you are sending can not read the data.

There are many free vpn's out there but most of them have bandwidth limits, to have unlimited bandwidth normally you will have to buy your own.
